I was so well taken care of by Patrick Kainz, having unwittingly fallen afoul of Austrian immigration laws as the holder of a provisional but not yet official residence permit from Greece. Patrick was incredibly responsive (I should note that this incident occurred over winter holidays), thoughtful in the approach to take in fighting the charges, and very efficient in handling my case. In the end, he cleared my name and got the fine that had been levied against me by the Austrian Border Police refunded. With a deep sigh of relief and gratitude, I cannot recommend him more highly.

As the name of the firm (Law and Beyond) suggests, Patrick Kainz and his firm truly did go above and beyond in helping us with our residency visa and all of our immigration questions. Additionally, Patrick Kainz and his team helped us with so many questions regarding moving and living in Vienna! We could not have had such great success without their help. Extremely professional, knowledgeable, nice, and responsive team. It was an absolute pleasure working with Patrick and his firm.

I am American and needed to get a spousal visa and from experience in other countries had appreciated having an attorney to navigate and walk me through the process (also foresee any pitfalls). I got Patrick Kainz's name from the Expat Center of Vienna. I reached out to a lot of attorneys on their list, and he was the most prompt responder and his communication was very clear in terms of what he offered, expectations, and rates. He uses an online file system where my husband and I could upload our documents and communicate with him. When we went to our MA35 appointment, we were extremely prepared. I think about a week after our appointment, MA35 informed Patrick that we were approved. I picked up my card two weeks after appointment. This was shockingly fast compared to my other immigration experiences in other countries. The whole thing was quick and easy. Patrick's English is flawless. Very much recommended.

You won’t walk into the immigration office alone

Most people don’t come to us because they can’t read a form. They come to us because the waiting is exhausting, the authority is intimidating, and one mistake can cost a year.

Here’s what working with us actually feels like:

You talk to Patrick and his expert team — not a call centre. Your first consultation is with the partner who will handle your case, not a junior you’ll never meet again. People book us specifically for this, and we’ve kept it that way on purpose.

We build the case, not just the paperwork. Anyone can fill in the official form. We prepare the full argument for why you qualify — the part that actually decides outcomes — and we manage every document and deadline for you in one secure place.

We stand next to you at the authority. On the day you file, Patrick and his team members are physically there with you. After more than a decade doing this in Austria, we know the departments  — and in our experience that means fewer surprises and smoother processing.

We don’t disappear after “yes.” We chase the authority so you don’t have to, we’re your single point of contact, and we remind you when it’s time to renew.

Students, professionals, couples, families, retirees, future citizens — we’ve guided people through every one of these routes, and we handle the paperwork, the deadlines and the authority so you can get on with your life in Austria.

Ready to start? Take the free pathway assessment and we’ll point you to the right route in minutes — or book a consultation with Patrick and his team.

P.S. Please note that we do not offer assistance in asylum law matters or US immigration law.
